Whatever happened to the good old days of capitalism when an emerging industry sank or swam due to the merits and marketability of their product, not from subsidies from the government?
“AWEA welcomes the Administration’s announcement of $2.3 billion in tax credits for clean energy manufacturing and President Obama’s call to Congress to provide an additional $5 billion in such credits. The U.S. wind energy industry appreciates the speed with which the Administration is providing this support. These tax credits will be critical in sustaining manufacturing activity in the current economic downturn.
However, in order to maximize the renewable energy jobs expected as a result of these tax incentives, and to build up a strong renewable energy manufacturing base in the U.S., these companies need a more certain market to sell into. The industry is still vulnerable to the impacts of on-again off-again tax credit policies.”

Politics really does make strange bedfellows!
Reverend Al Sharpton, President of National Action Network, Former Congressman J.C. Watts, and Dr. Gary A. Puckrein, President of the National Minority Quality Forum, called a press conference at the Boriken Neighborhood Health Center in New York City to focus a spotlight on the need for health care reform that eliminates inequities in health care quality and access for America’s emerging majority.
“I truly applaud Dr. Puckrein and the National Minority Quality Forum who have been in the trenches on minority health care disparities for many years,” said J.C. Watts. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to join forces with The Forum and the National Action Network to encourage Congress to oppose any cuts to Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) payments in the final version of health care reform legislation unless the cuts are tied to significant reductions in a state’s uninsured populations.” Read more…
Chris Wilson of Wilson Research Strategies takes a look at the Senate race in Mass, as well as the OK gubernatorial contest.

A reliable source tells OKPNS a super filthy political lie designed to torpedo a candidate for statewide office is being brewed up by a leading politician at the state legislature.
The source wouldn’t reveal the political affiliations of the conspirator or of the intended victim, but indicates the plotters have no designs on the office their target is seeking.
The source goes on to say the smear is a well-orchestrated effort, has been underway since mid-December. Our source says the conspirators may be recruiting allies in the media. “You’ll know it when you see it. It’s simply a matter of a bad person trying to destroy a good person. You’ll simply marvel at the integrity of the person they’re trying to smear, but you’ll understand in an instant what’s going when it’s revealed just who is behind the smear,” our source tells us.

Excerpt from an email Sen. Brogdon sent to his supporters yesterday. We admire Mr. Brogdon’s optimism!
Dear friends,
I know many of you saw the recent polls in the Tulsa World, and I am encouraged about the results! Now, you may be asking how polling 19% (within the margin of error) against my opponent is a “good thing?” Well, what the newspapers aren’t telling you is what was buried deep inside the polling data.
First, we have catapulted to almost 20% in a very short period of time on a limited budget. The simple truth is our numbers keep going up and my opponent’s keep going down.
Second, there were close to 19% of people in the poll who said “not for Mary.” Since we have yet to spend any money on television and radio, they simply don’t know that there is another option. Once Oklahomans hear about my pro-growth, pro-freedom campaign I believe the vast majority of them will become Brogdon supporters!
Do the math; 19% for Randy Brogdon plus 19% for anyone but Mary Fallin places us at 38%. All we need is 50.1% to win the primary this July!
Finally, in a head to head match-up against the democrat challengers, my name wasn’t included, only my opponent’s. She barely beat the Liberal Democrat candidate with a narrow margin of 51%.

OKLAHOMA CITY —State Rep. Anastasia Pittman helped sponsor the statewide NAACP youth and college-division membership training in the House Chamber recently, which focused on preparing the students for leadership roles and assist with the Census 2010 project.
Traveno Carter, president of the Langston College chapter of the NAACP and of the state conference for the youth and college division, was the facilitator for the event.
“Training young leaders to establish new chapters and revive pre-existing chapters is essential to our growth and our national goal of reaching over 20,000 active members by March 2010,” said Carter.
Pittman said the main focus of the meeting was to prepare the youths of Oklahoma to be ready for the 2010 Census and to get the community involved to help develop community partnership with all organizations involved with sponsoring the youth of Oklahoma.
“Next time the census comes around this year, it’ll be youths filling it out, and we want to make sure they are trained on how to correctly enter information plus be able to show others. It is important this census is as up-to-date and accurate as possible and that all young individuals are counted.”

After performances like today, it is easy to understand why rank and file Republicans continue to be disgusted by conniving RINO’s, and little wonder why thinking conservatives continue to abandon our party and head to the Tea Party movement.
Oklahoma is the reddest of Red States, but continuing to turn a blind eye to venal and corrupt leaders is an unwise way to build for the future. After last session’s revelations, Coffee has no political future as an elected official: even the indolent press corps knows that. We know Coffee is always worried about another attempt to send him packing. He has to keep his core gang of “consultants” in place to keep their money machine humming, and his future employment prospects as well.
So perhaps Oklahoma voters should turn their attention to the Republican senators who are helping him hold on to power. Perhaps the press corps would attempt to get every Republican senator to go on the record about their own support or opposition to Coffee. Perhaps monkeys will nest in the Capitol rotunda. Asking the press corps to do their job? It’s not going to happen. What IS possible is for the voters to ask their own senators if they support Coffee. If they do, it’s time to replace them in the next primary with Republicans who won’t tolerate corruption.
