From Examiner.com:
Looks like the rule of law and justice (delayed) still does mean something in Oklahoma. W.A.D. Edmondson’s silly prosecution of three citizens for petitioning their government came to a merciful end yesterday. Upon hearing of the news, an observer and reader of OKPNS sent us this comment:
“We have drugs to regrow hair, surgeries to transform men into women – and vice versa – and we can send a man to the moon, when are we going to find a cure for “Napoleon-itis” or “chronic short man’s syndrome?” Edmondson is a petty, sawed off tyrant who should be run out of Oklahoma on rails for disrupting over a year of these people’s lives and wasting the taxpayer’s money!”
Ouch! Here’s a statement from “Oklahoma 3″ member Paul Jacob” Read more…

This is a great article. We need to get Edmondson out of power and in an orange jumpsuit where he belongs. He’s a bully who abuses the power of his office on a level worse than even Wes Lane. Let’s hope Tim Pope and Brent Rinehart do as well as the Oklahoma 3 have done against this tyrant. Then maybe he can go tongue-kiss Jim Roth’s rectum and call it comfort food.

Wow, talk about one bitter republican! While I agree that The Office of the Attorney General is over stepping its bounds, I if the charges are unfounded (which I personally think that the Pope/Rinehart case is) then justice will be served, a jury (god forbid) or worse yet a appellate judge will see that this is blown way out of proportion, and that facts have been twisted to attempt and destroy the character of these men. (Or Pope at least)
Oh, and the Roth comment is completely uncalled for, Mr. Roth’s sexual orientation has no bearing on this situation. A.G. Edmondson is married, therefor there is no evidence to base such a comment, and even if there was, it would still no justify it. Sad that when it comes to attacking a man who has so much that he could be attacked for, you resort to the Oklahoma Republican favorite of ‘Lets-Attack-Jim Roth’s-Sexuality’ card, even if Roth is not involved

Roth’s relationshiop with Edmondson has everything to do with this. Roth is part of the Oklahoma machine, which includes Bennett, McClendon, Kelley, et. al. Edmondson is their lackey as well, along with Cornett, McCaleb and Henry. Anyone with any notoriety who stands up to them gets bullied, harrasses, threatened and hassled the way the Oklahoma 3 and Pope and Rinehart have been. Birds of a feather flock together and water seeks its own level. The only guy who gets more excited in Roth’s presence than Edmondson is Henry, if that tells you anything.

this sounds awfully conspiratorial of you, ‘the Oklahoma machine’. What is this machine, and where exactly did you find the blueprints? Cornett, McCaleb (I can only assume you mean Neal McCaleb, former head of ODOT) this is a big laundry list high profile people that Roth apparently controls. Rinehart is a crook, and it is sad that Pope got caught up with him. Rinehart still is going through tax issues, oh wait, dose Roth control the IRS as well? So we have to Oklahoma 3, who were indeed from out of state. Like it or not, that violates Oklahoma’s residency laws, and as A.G. Edmondson is quoted in the Journal Record as saying “If the courts determine that the state’s process violates the First Amendment, so be it. Until that time, our law will be enforced.” A.G. Edmondson, love him or hate him (I personally dislike him) was simply doing his job, if you have a problem with the law, it is not the fault of the AG but that of the legislature. Maybe the legislature will consider changing our laws to be more just, and not violate the rights of persons out of state to collect signatures. While I do believe that Edmondson is prosecuting Pope/Rinehart out of political motivation, I fail to see how this paints a massive conspiracy that stretches from Roth to McClendon to Gov. Henry.

Interesting side note on the Oklahoma 3:
On January 22, 2009, after the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit ruled that the residency requirement in Oklahoma is unconstitutional, Edmondson announced that he was dropping his charges against Jacob, Susan Johnson and Rick Carpenter for allegedly violating the unconstitutional law, saying that the 1969 law under which he was prosecuting them was “no longer enforceable”

You missed the point. Roth controls no one; he’s just bought and paid for like Cornett, McCaleb, Henry, et. al. The big money boys speak and their house boys listed above above do their bidding.
7. Tim Pope replies at 25th January 2009, 12:17 pm :
I could not be happier that the OK 3 are finally free – I know that Brent and I will be completely vindicated next May when we finally get a chance to give our side. I would almost feel bad if I had actually done something wrong but I followed the letter of the law and their is not a single witness who has come forward to say that I have done anything other than that. Congrats Paul!!

I cannot agree with you more Mr. Pope, and I sincerely hope that once this nasty business is over with, you can once again emerge with your reputation intact!
Butchey, who is this ‘et al’ that you speak of? You continue to name three people and then say ‘et al’. What dose their bidding look like? Oh, and how did Ray Pelfry stand up to ‘the Oklahoma machine’?
9. Seth Rott replies at 25th January 2009, 1:43 pm :
Look, I don’t know about this whole ‘Oklahoma Machine’ business, all I know is that I am glad that the Oklahoma 3 are free, and I hope that it is an omen of what is to come in the case of Pope/Rinehart!
10. Butchey Weinstein replies at 25th January 2009, 9:40 pm :
Mr. Pope, I had no idea you read this board. I hope and pray that you’re right, and that AG Attila the Hungry gets what’s coming to him — namely, sharing a cell with a big, sweaty lifer.
