Where do I begin?

How can you possibly think it is a good idea to continue to import our oil from Middle Eastern Countries that control so much of our wealth as it is sent over to "fuel" their economy? OF COURSE we need to drill here and drill now - this isnt a zero sum game. We should drill MORE in America - off our coasts, etc. This DOES NOT mean that we cant also pursue other domestic sources of energy such as CNG. Just because WE ALL - yes me included, dont like Chesapeake doesnt mean the policy isnt sound. You dont cut off your chesapeake nose to spite your need for domestic resources face. NO ONE contends that we will move our entire oil use over to natural gas or any other alternative. But SMART PEOPLE recognize that oil is a finite commodity that we should invest in alternatives NOW as well as pursue new oil discovery opportunities as the global economy continues to put demand pressure on the system. A decade ago Russia went from being a net exporter to a net importer of oil. You need to put your feelings of Chesapeake aside as they are a REALLY small fish in this pond and understand the big picture of how foreign oil impacts our national security and how the increased demand globally impacts our national economy. To do otherwise is foolishness, and certainly isnt 'conservative'.
