Wary of a ruling that could force the team to play two more years in Seattle, the Sonic’s Oklahoma City ownership team settled the case at the last minute. ESPN contends the Sonics got outmaneuvered legally, but the NBA is headed to Oklahoma City, where the taxpayers will pick up the slack. “The rubes got their fannies paddled legally, but thanks to their corporate welfare bonanza in the Oklahoma legislature, they won’t feel the pain quite so bad,” a legal expert deeply involved in the case tells OKPNS.

Sad that Oklahoma citizens will be taxed for a Natl sports team since most oklahoman’s will not pay to go
watch. Oklahomans are more spend thrift than most States.
I sure hope the Ok politicians will attend every game because they’ll need someone to buy their tickets, especially since Oklahomans are outraged that we have to pay to have the stinking team come here.
my prayer is they will get tied up in red tape & wont come here becuse the people dont want them here.

I think they wanted the money to put in their pockets regardless if the team came here or not. Maybe it’s time for me to vote with my feet. They can stick their sports where the sun don’t shine.

If they can’t sell enough tickets, Corn-nuts will smile and finesse the good but less-than-bright people of Oklahoma City to foot the bill. Castigate me calling them less-than-bright if you will, but they were bamboozled once, so I’m sure Mr. Diet can go on radio and TV and convince them to fund Bennet’s and McLendon’s folly again, no problem.

It isn’t a question of whether we, the citizens of OKC, are bright. We have just been lied to so long (by the Gaylords, etc.) that we have thrown in the towel. Maybe we could think better if the illegal air pollution in this city wasn’t killing us. And as for our Mayor “TacoBell Man” Mick Cornett, he lied point blank in our faces while using our tax dollars to fund the propaganda campaign to trick us into voting to build skyboxes that most of us will never see, except from a distance. And Mick Cornett calls himself a Christian. Where in the Bible does it say that you should steal from the poor to give to the rich?

Cornett’s one of those CityChurch pseudo-Christians, even though he goes to Crossroads Cathedral. Name it, claim it, and stick taxpayers with the bill. Kinda like Wes Lane, who sends all the druggies to prison except his wife. I mean, what would it be like if Lisa Lisa wasn’t able to get up, three sheets to the wind, every Sunday and slobber all over Hogue’s pulpit about how much she loves Jesus. That little show in and of itself is enough to warrant her not going to Mabel Bassett.
